  THE RAIL TRAIL IS #LIT!

On Wednesday night, the project celebrated a huge milestone: our first corporate sponsors. Duke Energy and Beacon Partners caught the vision for the Rail Trail and turned a dark, mundane substation and radio tower into an illuminating piece of public art with 12 LED floodlights, 16,000 color possibilities, and infinite value for the Rail Trail project.

REBRAND, what WHAT.

You may have noticed one other change… the Rail Trail rebranded! We hired Crafted, a graphic design firm in South End, to create an identity that represents the physical make-up of the trail as a linear path with active spaces along the way and captures the essence of the Rail Trail experience based on 5 guiding words, "cool, connective, dynamic, urban, and welcoming.

  A LONG, LONG TIME AGO…

The vision for the Rail Trail began in 2013 when a team of visionary developers, designers, and artists noticed more than 70 underutilized spaces along the Blue Line light rail corridor and observed thousands of new residents treating the leftover emergency access infrastructure as a recreational amenity.
